Xi Jinping Sends New Year Greetings to Iowa Friends, Highlights U.S.-China Friendship

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a Chinese New Year card to his friends in the U.S. state of Iowa, highlighting the importance of friendship and cooperation between China and the United States. In his message, President Xi emphasized that both nations share extensive common interests and broad opportunities for collaboration.

\"The warm reception I received when I visited the beautiful state of Iowa 40 years ago is still fresh in my memory,\" President Xi wrote in his reply card. He expressed his hope that the peoples of China and the United States will continue to visit each other, deepen exchanges, and jointly create new stories of friendship.

President Xi underscored that China and the United States can achieve mutual success and common prosperity, benefiting both countries and the world at large. He encouraged ongoing efforts to contribute to the development of China-U.S. relations.

Earlier, a group of 58 individuals from Iowa—including friends Luca Berrone, Gary Dvorchak, and Sarah Lande; former U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad and his wife; former President of the World Food Prize Foundation Kenneth Quinn; and representatives of teachers, students, and parents who participated in the \"50,000 in Five Years\" initiative—had jointly sent a Chinese New Year card to President Xi.

In their card, they recalled President Xi's first visit to Iowa in 1985 and extended New Year greetings in the Year of the Snake. The representatives expressed their gratitude for the \"50,000 in Five Years\" initiative, shared their experiences from visiting China, and conveyed their eagerness to visit again.

The exchange of New Year greetings between President Xi and his friends in Iowa reflects the enduring ties and shared aspirations for a stronger relationship between the Chinese and American peoples.
