Chinese President Xi Jinping recently sent a Chinese New Year card to friends in the U.S. state of Iowa, emphasizing the shared interests and potential for partnership between China and the United States.

In his message, President Xi reminisced about his visit to the picturesque state of Iowa 40 years ago, expressing that the warm reception he received remains fresh in his memory.

\"China and the United States share extensive common interests and broad space for cooperation and can become partners and friends,\" President Xi stated, highlighting the importance of mutual success and common prosperity for the benefit of both nations and the world at large.

The Chinese president expressed hope that the people of both countries will engage in more visits and exchanges, jointly writing new stories of friendship and contributing to the development of China-U.S. relations.

Earlier, 58 individuals from Iowa, including friends such as Luca Berrone, Gary Dvorchak, and Sarah Lande; former U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad and his wife; former President of the World Food Prize Foundation Kenneth Quinn; and representatives of teachers, students, and parents involved in the \"50,000 in Five Years\" youth exchange initiative, jointly sent a Chinese New Year card to President Xi.

In their card, they recalled President Xi's first visit to Iowa in 1985 and extended New Year greetings to him in the Year of the Snake.

The representatives expressed gratitude to President Xi for proposing the \"50,000 in Five Years\" initiative, shared their experiences from visiting China, and expressed their eagerness to return.

This exchange of heartfelt messages underscores the enduring friendship between China and Iowa, symbolizing the broader potential for strengthened ties and cooperation between China and the United States.
