Xi Jinping Sends Chinese New Year Greetings to Friends in Iowa

In a gesture of friendship and goodwill, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a Chinese New Year card to friends in the U.S. state of Iowa on Monday. The card emphasized the extensive common interests and broad space for cooperation between China and the United States, highlighting the potential for the two nations to become partners and friends.

President Xi reminisced about the warm reception he received during his visit to the beautiful state of Iowa four decades ago, noting that the memories of that trip remain vivid. He expressed optimism that China and the United States can achieve mutual success and common prosperity, benefiting both countries and the global community.

In his message, Xi Jinping conveyed his hope that people from both nations will increase their visits and exchanges, creating new stories of friendship and making significant contributions to the development of China-U.S. relations.

Earlier, a group of 58 individuals from Iowa, including friends Luca Berrone, Gary Dvorchak, and Sarah Lande; former U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad and his wife; former President of the World Food Prize Foundation Kenneth Quinn; as well as representatives of teachers, students, and parents who participated in the initiative to invite 50,000 young Americans to China for exchange and study over five years, collectively sent a Chinese New Year card to President Xi.

The card commemorated Xi's first visit to Iowa in 1985 and extended New Year greetings in the Year of the Snake. The representatives expressed their gratitude for the \"50,000 in Five Years\" initiative, shared their positive experiences visiting China, and looked forward to future visits.
