Chinese President Xi Jinping lauded the nation's solid progress over the past year despite facing \\"complex and challenging\\" situations, during a high-level reception on Monday celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year.
\\"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\\" Xi said at the event held by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council. The reception, attended by over 2,000 people, was organized to usher in the Year of the Snake, which begins on January 29.
Reflecting on the past 12 months, Xi, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, highlighted China's composed response to challenges. He noted that the country implemented a range of comprehensive measures, overcame difficulties, and forged ahead with determination.
Xi extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region, and overseas Chinese.
\\"Over the past year, China effectively implemented existing policies and proactively introduced a package of incremental policies, which helped promote the recovery of the economy,\\" Xi said.
He emphasized China's remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, with new quality productive forces advancing steadily. Xi also noted that employment and consumer prices remained stable throughout the year.
As China welcomes the Year of the Snake, Xi's remarks underscore the nation's resilience and commitment to advancing Chinese modernization despite global and domestic challenges.
