At a high-level reception to usher in the Year of the Snake, Chinese leader Xi Jinping lauded the nation's solid progress in advancing modernization despite facing complex and challenging situations over the past year.
Xi emphasized that in the Year of the Dragon, China demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit, enduring storms and ultimately seeing the rainbow. He highlighted how the country responded with composure, implemented comprehensive measures, overcame difficulties, and forged ahead with determination.
The reception, attended by over 2,000 individuals, saw Xi extend Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.
Over the past year, China effectively implemented existing policies while proactively introducing incremental measures that promoted economic recovery. Xi noted remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, with new quality productive forces forging ahead steadily. Additionally, China's employment rates and consumer prices remained stable, underscoring the country's sustained economic resilience.
