Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday highlighted the significant progress made by the Chinese mainland in advancing modernization during the Year of the Dragon, despite facing complex and challenging situations over the past year.
"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow," Xi remarked at a high-level reception organized by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to welcome the Year of the Snake, which begins on January 29.
Addressing over 2,000 attendees, Xi extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, residents in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.
He noted that over the past year, the Chinese mainland effectively implemented existing policies and introduced new incremental measures, promoting economic recovery. Xi also highlighted remarkable advancements in technological and industrial innovation, with steady growth in new quality productive forces, stable employment, and consumer prices.
