Wang Ziyang of China clinched the gold medal in the men's snowboard knuckle huck at the X Games in Aspen, Colorado, on Saturday, marking a historic debut at the event.
Entering his final run in fourth place, Wang needed a remarkable performance to ascend to the top spot. Rising to the challenge, he executed a stunning triple frontflip with precise nose and tail taps, landing flawlessly to secure victory.
As the first athlete to compete in both the X Games superpipe and knuckle huck, Wang set a new standard for versatility in snowboarding. His win also marks the first time a snowboarder from his country has claimed the men's knuckle huck title at the X Games.
Patrick Hofmann of Switzerland earned the silver medal, while Dusty Henricksen of the United States took home the bronze.
Adding to China's success, Wang's compatriot Li Fanghui secured her first X Games medal by claiming silver in the women's ski superpipe final with a score of 86.66 points. Cassie Sharpe of Canada won gold with 88.33 points, and fellow Canadian Amy Fraser captured bronze with 84.66 points.
