President Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Military Personnel

In a heartwarming gesture ahead of the Spring Festival, Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command on Friday. The visit underscored his commitment to China's military forces as they prepare to celebrate one of the most significant holidays in the Chinese calendar.

President Xi, who also serves as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), extended his festive greetings to all service personnel. This included members of the PLA, the People's Armed Police Force, civilian staff within the military, as well as militia and reserve forces. His message was delivered on behalf of both the CPC Central Committee and the CMC, highlighting the nation's collective appreciation for the armed forces.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. It's a time of reunion and joy for families across China, and President Xi's engagement with military personnel brings the warmth of the season to those serving the nation.

During his visit on Friday morning, President Xi met directly with officers and soldiers of the PLA Northern Theater Command. He later connected with representatives from troops across the military via video link, ensuring his message reached all corners of the armed services.

Troops briefed President Xi on their combat readiness and mission execution status, to which he offered full acknowledgment and praise. Emphasizing the importance of vigilance, he urged the troops to bolster their enforcement of combat readiness duties. This, he noted, is essential to effectively respond to any emergencies and to safeguard national security and social stability during the festive season.

President Xi's visit and his words of encouragement resonate deeply, not only with the military but also with citizens who value the dedication of those who protect the nation. As China ushers in the new year, the commitment to security and peace remains a steadfast priority.
