President Xi Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Troops, Urges Combat Readiness

Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended his warm Spring Festival greetings to all service personnel during a visit to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command on Friday, ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year which falls on January 29 this year.

President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), met with officers and soldiers of the PLA Northern Theater Command in the morning. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for their dedication and urged them to maintain high levels of combat readiness.

During the visit, Xi engaged with officers and soldiers, listening attentively as they briefed him on their combat readiness duties and the execution of their missions. He commended their efforts and emphasized the importance of vigilance during the festive season.

\"The Spring Festival is a time for celebration, but we must remain alert to safeguard national security and social stability,\" Xi stressed. \"I trust in your commitment and ability to effectively respond to any emergencies that may arise during the holidays.\"

He also connected via video link with representatives of troops across the military, extending his greetings and encouragement to those stationed in various regions. Xi highlighted the critical role of the military in ensuring the nation's security, especially during significant national celebrations.

As China prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year, President Xi's visit and message serve as a reminder of the unwavering commitment of the country's armed forces to protect the nation and its people.
