On Friday, ahead of the Spring Festival, President Xi Jinping inspected the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command, extending festive greetings to all servicemen and women.
During his visit, President Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), met with officers and soldiers of the Northern Theater Command.
He later spoke to representatives of troops across the military via video link. The officers and soldiers briefed President Xi on their combat readiness duties and mission execution status.
