Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended festive greetings to all servicemen ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.
On Friday, President Xi visited the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command, where he met with officers and soldiers.
As general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), President Xi extended his warm wishes on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC to service personnel of the PLA and the People's Armed Police Force, civilian personnel in the military, and members of the militia and reserve forces.
The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.
During his visit on Friday morning, President Xi interacted with officers and soldiers of the PLA Northern Theater Command. He also spoke with representatives of troops across the military via video link.
