President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, embarked on an inspection tour in northeast China's Liaoning Province ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, one of the nation's most significant festivities.
On Thursday, Xi visited a cold rolling mill of Bensteel Group in Benxi City. He emphasized that the steel industry is a crucial foundational sector for the country. Highlighting the importance of the real economy, he noted that it serves as the backbone of the national economy and called for continued innovation and development within the industry.
Earlier, Xi stopped by a food market in Shenyang, the provincial capital, to assess the market's supply and demand during the holiday season. Engaging with vendors and shoppers, he checked on the availability of goods to ensure residents have ample access to necessities during the festivities.
Xi's visit underscores the government's commitment to strengthening key industries and ensuring a prosperous and stable society as the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival.
