Xi Jinping Visits Liaoning, Emphasizes Real Economy Ahead of Spring Festival

President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made an inspection tour of northeast China's Liaoning Province ahead of the Spring Festival, one of the country's most significant traditional festivals.

On Thursday, Xi visited a cold rolling mill of Bensteel Group in Benxi City. During his visit, he emphasized that the steel industry is a crucial basic industry for the country. He highlighted that the real economy is the foundation of the national economy, underscoring the importance of strengthening industrial capabilities and advancing technological innovation.

Earlier in his tour, Xi visited a food market in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province. He checked on the market's supplies during the holiday season, ensuring that residents have ample access to essential goods as they prepare for the festivities. His visit reflects a focus on people's livelihoods and the importance of stable supply chains during important holidays.

Xi's visit to Liaoning Province comes as China gears up for the Spring Festival, a period marked by family reunions and cultural celebrations. His engagements with both industrial workers and market vendors demonstrate a commitment to economic development and the well-being of ordinary citizens.
