President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, embarked on an inspection tour in northeast China's Liaoning Province ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, one of the most significant celebrations in China.

On Thursday, Xi visited a cold rolling mill of Bensteel Group in Benxi City. Earlier in the day, Xi strolled through a bustling food market in Shenyang, the provincial capital.
