Bridging the Taiwan Strait through the lens of a camera, photographer Wang Wen-hsien from Beigang Town on the island of Taiwan has embarked on a heartfelt journey to capture the spirit of Mazu, the revered goddess of the sea.
For the past three years, Wang has been traveling regularly across the Taiwan Strait to Meizhou Island in Fujian Province, southeastern China. His mission: to document the vibrant traditions and ceremonies dedicated to Mazu, whose influence spans southern China and beyond.
