Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Thursday inspected Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The visit comes just days before the Spring Festival, the most important festival for the Chinese people, which falls on January 29 this year.
During his trip, Xi visited a food market and a residential community in Shenyang. He learned about the supply of goods during the holiday season, measures in place to meet residents' daily needs, and efforts to optimize public services. Xi also reviewed progress made in improving people's lives.
For over a decade, Xi, as the top leader of the Party and the state, has made it a tradition to spend time with ordinary people ahead of the Spring Festival.
