Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Thursday ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.
The Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year, is the most important traditional festival for the Chinese people. In keeping with his long-standing tradition of spending time with ordinary citizens before the holiday, Xi toured local markets and residential communities to connect with residents and assess preparations for the festive season.

Xi also visited a residential community where he was briefed on measures to optimize public services and improve people's livelihoods. He emphasized the importance of grassroots development in enhancing the well-being of the population.
For more than a decade, Xi, as the top leader of the Party and the state, has made it a tradition to spend time with ordinary people ahead of the Spring Festival. His visits reflect a commitment to understanding the needs and aspirations of the populace, highlighting the government's focus on people-centered development.
