Ice Event Tickets Nearly Sold Out for 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games

Organizers of the ninth Asian Winter Games announced on Wednesday that most tickets for ice events in Harbin, located in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, have already been sold. The enthusiasm reflects the growing anticipation for the games, set to begin in less than three weeks.

From February 3, more than 1,270 athletes representing 34 Asian nations and regions will converge on China to compete in 64 events across 11 disciplines spanning six sports. The opening competitions kick off on February 3, with athletes from the host country making their debut on February 4.

A total of 64 gold medals are at stake, with the first champion to be crowned on February 8. While ice events will be held in Harbin, the snow events are scheduled to take place in Yabuli, known for its picturesque winter landscapes and top-notch facilities.

To ensure the games run smoothly and securely, organizers have arranged 17 test events across all sports and venues, with 14 having been successfully completed so far. These tests are crucial for fine-tuning operations and logistics ahead of the official competitions.

Given that outdoor snow events are highly dependent on weather conditions, over 30 meteorological experts have been stationed in Yabuli. Their expertise will aid staff in responding promptly to any changes in weather, ensuring the safety and fairness of the competitions.
