Braving the cold winter weather, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited the flood-affected residents of Zhujiagou village in northeast China's Liaoning Province on Wednesday.
Xi's visit to Zhujiagou, a village under the administration of Suizhong County, Huludao City, comes ahead of the Spring Festival, the most important festival for the Chinese people, which falls on January 29 this year.
Walking through the snow-covered village, Xi met with local residents who have been affected by recent floods. He expressed his concern for their well-being, inquired about their living conditions, and extended his best wishes for the upcoming Spring Festival.
During his visit, Xi emphasized the importance of disaster relief work and urged local authorities to ensure that all necessary assistance is provided to the affected families. He highlighted the need to rebuild homes, restore infrastructure, and ensure that people's livelihoods are secured.
The residents expressed their gratitude for Xi's visit, noting that his presence brought warmth during a difficult time. \"We are deeply touched by the general secretary's concern,\" said one village elder. \"His visit gives us hope for the future.\"
Xi's visit reflects the government's commitment to supporting those in need and ensuring that all citizens can enjoy a safe and prosperous new year.
