President Xi Visits Flood-Affected Villagers in Northeast China Ahead of Spring Festival

On a cold Wednesday, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, braved the elements to visit residents affected by floods in Liaoning Province, northeast China.

President Xi traveled to the village of Zhujiagou, located in Suizhong County under the administration of Huludao City. The village has been grappling with the aftermath of severe flooding that disrupted the lives of its inhabitants.

Demonstrating solidarity with the affected communities, Xi engaged with villagers to assess recovery efforts and offer support. His visit comes ahead of the Spring Festival, China's most significant cultural celebration, which falls on January 29 this year.

During the visit, Xi emphasized the importance of rebuilding and ensuring that all residents can celebrate the upcoming festival with hope and renewed optimism. He urged local authorities to prioritize relief efforts and safeguard the well-being of the people.

The trip highlights the Chinese mainland's commitment to caring for its citizens, especially during times of adversity. As the nation prepares for the Spring Festival, efforts are underway to restore normalcy and bring festive cheer back to the flood-affected regions.
