President Xi Jinping, also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, braved the cold on Wednesday to visit residents affected by recent floods in the village of Zhujiagou, Suizhong County, Huludao City, in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
Arriving ahead of the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year, President Xi brought warmth and support to the villagers still recovering from the natural disaster. He walked through the village, inspecting the damage caused by the floods, and spoke personally with residents about their needs and concerns.
\"The well-being of the people is always my greatest concern,\" President Xi told the villagers. \"We are committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy a happy and peaceful Spring Festival.\"
The President emphasized the importance of rebuilding efforts and instructed local officials to expedite the restoration of infrastructure and homes. He also underscored the need for comprehensive disaster preparedness to mitigate future risks.
Residents expressed gratitude for the President's visit. \"It's heartwarming to see that our country's leader cares so deeply about us,\" said Li Ming, a local farmer whose home was damaged by the floods. \"His visit gives us hope for the future.\"
President Xi's visit reflects the government's continued commitment to supporting communities affected by natural disasters, ensuring economic stability, and promoting social welfare across the country.
