Xi: Stable China-Russia Relations Key to Addressing Global Uncertainties

Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

President Xi stated that such a relationship will help address uncertainties in the external world, and he expressed readiness to work with President Putin in 2025 to guide China-Russia relations to new heights.

He highlighted the need to cope with external uncertainties through the stability and resilience of China-Russia relations, jointly promote development and revitalization of both countries, and uphold international fairness and justice.

Xi called on both sides to deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both nations. He also urged consolidation and expansion of bilateral relations and promotion of practical cooperation.

President Putin remarked that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. He affirmed that cooperation between the two nations serves the interests of both peoples and will not be impacted by changes in the international situation.

During the video meeting, the two leaders also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year.
