Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia to address uncertainties in the global landscape during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
President Xi stated his readiness to work with President Putin in 2025 to elevate China-Russia relations to new heights. He highlighted that by enhancing the stability and resilience of their bilateral ties, both nations could effectively cope with external uncertainties, jointly promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi added, calling for the consolidation and expansion of bilateral relations and the promotion of practical cooperation.
President Putin echoed these sentiments, noting that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating one another as equals. \"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin remarked.
During the meeting, the two leaders engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern. They agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year to further strengthen their partnership.
