Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia to address global uncertainties during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
President Xi stated that in 2025, he is ready to work with President Putin to continue guiding China-Russia relations to greater heights. He highlighted that strengthening their bilateral ties would help both nations cope with external uncertainties, promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\\" Xi added.
He also called on China and Russia to consolidate and expand their bilateral relations and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
President Putin, for his part, said that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating one another as equals.
\\"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\\" Putin added.
During the video meeting, the two heads of state also had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
