Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of stable and resilient China-Russia relations amid global uncertainties.
President Xi stated that in 2025, he is ready to work with President Putin to elevate China-Russia relations to new heights. He stressed that through the stability and resilience of their bilateral ties, both countries can jointly address external uncertainties, promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi added. He called for the consolidation and expansion of bilateral relations and the promotion of practical cooperation.
President Putin remarked that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. \"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" he stated.
During the meeting, the two leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
