Xi Jinping and Putin Vow to Strengthen China-Russia Ties Amid Global Challenges

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of stable and resilient relations between China and Russia to address uncertainties in the global environment.

President Xi highlighted that a strong China-Russia partnership is crucial for coping with external challenges. He stated, \"In 2025, I am ready to work with President Putin to continue guiding China-Russia relations towards greater heights to cope with the uncertainties of the external environment with the stability and resilience of China-Russia relations, jointly promote the development and revitalization of the two countries, and uphold international fairness and justice.\"

He called on both sides to deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen mutual support, and safeguard their legitimate interests. Xi also emphasized the need to consolidate and expand bilateral relations and promote in-depth practical cooperation.

President Putin echoed Xi's sentiments, affirming that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other as equals. \"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin added.

During their discussion, the two leaders exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
