Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of stable and resilient China-Russia relations in addressing global uncertainties during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Xi stated that he is ready to work with Putin in 2025 to guide China-Russia relations to greater heights, aiming to cope with external environmental uncertainties with the stability and resilience of their bilateral ties. He highlighted the need for both nations to deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen mutual support, and safeguard their legitimate interests.
Xi called on both sides to consolidate and expand bilateral relations and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
In response, Putin affirmed that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating one another as equals. He noted that cooperation between the two countries serves the interests of both peoples and will remain unaffected by changes in the international situation.
During the video meeting, the two leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year.
