Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia to address uncertainties in the global landscape.
President Xi expressed his readiness to work with President Putin through 2025 to enhance China-Russia relations and cope with external challenges. He highlighted the stability and resilience of their partnership as a means to jointly promote the development and revitalization of both countries while upholding international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen mutual support, and safeguard our legitimate interests,\" Xi stated, calling for the consolidation and expansion of bilateral relations and the promotion of practical cooperation.
President Putin affirmed the strong trust and support between Russia and China, noting that both countries have always treated each other as equals. \"Cooperation between our nations serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" he added.
The two leaders also conducted an in-depth exchange on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year.
