Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia to address external uncertainties during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Xi stated that in 2025, he is ready to work with Putin to elevate China-Russia relations to new heights. He highlighted that strengthening bilateral ties will help both nations cope with the uncertainties of the external environment, promote mutual development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi added.
President Putin echoed Xi's sentiments, noting that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. \"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin stated.
During the video meeting, the two leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the year.
