Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of stable and resilient relations between China and Russia in addressing global uncertainties.
President Xi stated that in 2025, he is ready to work with President Putin to continue guiding China-Russia relations to greater heights. He highlighted that strengthening their partnership would help cope with external uncertainties through the stability and resilience of their relations, jointly promoting the development and revitalization of both countries, and upholding international fairness and justice.
He called on both sides to deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both nations.
President Putin, in turn, remarked that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. He noted that cooperation between the two nations serves the interests of their peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation.
During the meeting, the two leaders also had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the year.
