Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia will help address uncertainties in the external world during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
President Xi emphasized his readiness to work with President Putin to guide China-Russia relations toward greater heights in 2025. He highlighted that strengthening these ties would enable both countries to cope with external uncertainties through stability and resilience, jointly promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi added.
President Putin acknowledged the strong foundation of trust and equality between Russia and China. \"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" he stated.
During the video meeting, the two leaders conducted an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern. They agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year to further consolidate and expand bilateral relations and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
