Xi and Putin Vow to Strengthen China-Russia Ties Amid Global Uncertainties

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin underscored the significance of a stable and resilient China-Russia relationship during a video meeting on Tuesday. The two leaders emphasized that strong bilateral ties will help address uncertainties in the external world.

President Xi expressed his readiness to work with President Putin in 2025 to continue guiding China-Russia relations to new heights. \"We should cope with the uncertainties of the external environment with the stability and resilience of China-Russia relations,\" Xi stated. He called for both nations to jointly promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.

Xi also urged for a deepening of strategic cooperation between China and Russia, strengthening mutual support, and safeguarding the legitimate interests of both countries. \"We should consolidate and expand our bilateral relations and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation,\" he added.

President Putin, in response, remarked that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating one another as equals. \"Cooperation between our two countries serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin affirmed.

During their meeting, the two heads of state engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern. They agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year.
