The Shenzhou-19 crew has marked a significant milestone in China’s space exploration efforts by successfully completing their second series of extravehicular activities (EVAs). According to the China Manned Space Agency, the operation was concluded at 1:12 a.m. on January 21.
Astronauts Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze undertook critical tasks during the mission. These included installing space debris protection devices and conducting inspections of extravehicular equipment—essential steps to ensure the safety and functionality of their spacecraft in the harsh environment of space.
Cai and Song, who ventured outside the spacecraft for the EVA, have safely returned to the Wentian lab module. Their successful return highlights the proficiency and preparedness of China’s astronauts in conducting complex space operations.
This achievement not only demonstrates the growing capabilities of China’s manned space program but also contributes to the broader objectives of advancing human space exploration. The Shenzhou-19 mission continues to pave the way for future endeavors in orbit, fostering international interest and collaboration in space technology and exploration.
