The Yingge dance, originating from the Chaoshan region of Guangdong, is a captivating blend of martial arts and local opera elements. Dancers, adorned in elaborate costumes and wielding painted masks, performed intricate routines that are steeped in cultural significance. Historically, the dance is believed to ward off evil spirits, pray for good luck, and usher in prosperity for the community.
