Xi Jinping Urges Unity and Innovation in Spring Festival Message to Non-CPC Groups

On Monday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings ahead of the Spring Festival to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

During the annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing China's development goals. With the Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, approaching on January 29, Xi's message underscored a vision for the nation's future.

He highlighted China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development, and enhancing self-reliance in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain robust social and economic growth in 2025 and beyond.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength towards common goals.

Underscoring the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to achieve its targets by 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensive reforms, promote high-quality development, and formulate forward-looking proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi emphasized the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of sustainable development and ecological preservation as integral components of the nation's progress.

Regarding the private sector, Xi encouraged the ACFIC to guide businesses in maintaining their entrepreneurial enthusiasm and confidence in development. He advocated for establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese characteristics, aiming to foster a vibrant and resilient economy.

The gathering reflected a collective commitment to unity, innovation, and shared responsibility among China's diverse political and social groups. Xi's message resonated with the theme of collaboration and mutual support as the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival.
