Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Urges Unity for Development

In a gesture of goodwill ahead of the Spring Festival, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to non-Communist Party of China (CPC) personages during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

Addressing members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation, Xi emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration to achieve China's development goals. He called on these groups to focus on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Xi highlighted China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development, and promoting greater self-reliance in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years.

\"We must strive to achieve the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and prepare for the challenges ahead,\" Xi stated. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to deepening reforms, and actively participate in formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

Xi also stressed the need to address critical challenges in protecting the Yangtze River ecosystem. He urged the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The annual Spring Festival gathering serves as a platform for strengthening unity among China's political parties and social groups. By fostering collaboration and shared purpose, Xi aims to harness the collective strength of the nation to achieve high-quality development and long-term prosperity.
