Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Urges Unity and Innovation

As the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The annual gathering was held on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

During the event, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration to achieve China's development goals. He underscored that China will implement more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focus on high-quality development, and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and resources to contribute to the nation's progress.

Highlighting the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to achieve the targets set for 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi emphasized the importance of tackling critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He called for concerted efforts to preserve the environment and promote sustainable development along the river.

Xi also highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He encouraged them to maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year, Xi's messages of unity, innovation, and shared responsibility resonate with the overarching goals of fostering prosperity and sustainability in China's ongoing development journey.
