Beijing, January 24 – Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

Xi, who is also Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized the implementation of proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. Xi encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and gather wisdom and strength for national development.

Underscoring the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi urged efforts to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi also stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He urged concerted efforts to safeguard the ecological environment of this vital waterway.

Regarding the private sector, Xi noted that the ACFIC should guide private enterprises in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese characteristics.
