Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages, Emphasizes Unity for Development

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC personages ahead of the Spring Festival. On Monday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi met with members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front to convey his well-wishes.

Xi, who is also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration as the country approaches the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

During the gathering, Xi highlighted China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He stressed the focus on high-quality development and enhancing self-reliance and strength in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the nation’s overall interests. Xi encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Xi underscored the significance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

The president also stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem, highlighting environmental conservation as a national priority.

Xi added that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
