Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages Ahead of Lunar New Year

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

At an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi conveyed his well-wishes for the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year. In his address, he emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies in 2025, focusing on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks, serve the nation's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to sustain sound social and economic development.

Highlighting the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi noted that these accomplishments would lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi also stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He encouraged efforts to safeguard this vital ecological corridor.

Regarding the role of private enterprises, Xi highlighted that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering underscored the importance of unity and collaboration among various political parties and groups in achieving China's development goals and fostering social harmony as the nation embraces the Lunar New Year.
