In a warm gesture ahead of the Spring Festival, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC personages at an annual gathering held on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Xi, who is also Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The Spring Festival, marking the beginning of the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.
During the event, Xi emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to maintain a sound momentum for social and economic development in 2025.
Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks and serve the overall interests of the country. He encouraged them to leverage their strengths in rallying support, building consensus, and pooling wisdom and strength for the nation’s progress.
He stressed the importance of making concerted efforts in 2025 to successfully accomplish the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), laying a solid foundation for the next five years. “Together, we can achieve our goals and pave the way for a prosperous future,” Xi remarked.
