Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

In a gesture of unity and collaboration, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival. The event took place on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes during the annual gathering with non-CPC personages. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year, marking a time of renewal and hope across the nation.

During his address, Xi emphasized the importance of implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies to foster high-quality development. He highlighted the need for greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.

\"We must focus on achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan and lay a solid foundation for the next five years,\" Xi stated, underscoring the strategic goals that will shape China's future. He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests.

Xi urged these groups to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength. He expressed hope that they would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to comprehensive reforms, promote high-quality growth, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. This call to action highlights the administration's commitment to ecological conservation as a key component of sustainable development.

He also pointed out the significant role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. \"The ACFIC should help maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features,\" Xi remarked, emphasizing the importance of private enterprises in the nation's economic landscape.

The annual gathering ahead of the Spring Festival serves as a platform for reinforcing unity and collaboration between the CPC and non-CPC groups. Xi's remarks reflect a vision of collective effort and shared responsibility in driving China's progress in the years to come.
