At the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, an atmosphere of warmth and unity prevailed as Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended heartfelt Spring Festival greetings on Monday. The gathering brought together representatives from non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.
Xi Jinping, also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared purpose. He highlighted China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development, and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology.
“We must maintain sound momentum for social and economic development in 2025,” Xi stated, underscoring the significance of the upcoming year in achieving the nation’s goals. He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks and serve the country’s overall interests.
Xi urged these groups to leverage their unique strengths to rally support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength. “Your contributions are vital in broadening the unity and fostering a collective effort towards our shared objectives,” he said.
Highlighting the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), Xi stressed the necessity of dedicated efforts in 2025 to successfully accomplish these goals and lay a solid foundation for the next five years. “Our actions in the coming period will determine the trajectory of China’s future development,” he remarked.
The event exemplified the spirit of inclusivity and mutual cooperation as China prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival. The shared commitment to national progress set a hopeful tone for the festivities and the years ahead.
