Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

In a gesture of unity and collaboration, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

On Monday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi Jinping, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his warm wishes during the annual gathering with non-CPC personages. The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

Emphasizing the importance of collective efforts, Xi highlighted China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He underscored the nation's focus on high-quality development and enhancing self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain robust social and economic growth in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country's overarching interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He encouraged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to national development.

Highlighting the goals set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to achieve these targets by 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively participate in deepening reforms, promote high-quality development, and contribute ideas for the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi emphasized the importance of tackling critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He urged for concerted efforts to safeguard this vital natural resource.

Xi also highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He called on the federation to inspire enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and assist private enterprises in establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
