Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Monday extended festive greetings to non-CPC personages ahead of the Spring Festival.

During an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his wishes to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

Xi emphasized that China will implement more proactive and impactful macro policies, focusing on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

He called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to focus on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Highlighting the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi underscored the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection, calling for concerted efforts to preserve the vital waterway.

He also urged the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
