Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Monday extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

At an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his warm wishes as China prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. Xi encouraged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to achieve common goals.

Underscoring the importance of meeting the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi also highlighted the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He urged the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
