Beijing, [Date] — In a warm gesture ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to members of non-Communist Party of China (CPC) political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.
At the annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday, Xi, who is also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year on January 29.
During the event, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and the importance of promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts, he noted, are crucial for sustaining sound social and economic development in 2025.
President Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks of the nation. He urged them to serve the country's overall interests by leveraging their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.
\"Achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) is essential,\" Xi underscored. \"We must lay a solid foundation for the next five years.\"
He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development. Xi encouraged them to actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection.
He also emphasized the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. \"The ACFIC should help private enterprises maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features,\" he said.
