Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

On Monday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended his warmest Spring Festival greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The event took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, marking a significant gesture ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.

Xi Jinping, who also serves as China's President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the nation's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and the pursuit of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.

Addressing the gathered non-CPC personages, Xi called upon them to concentrate on the central tasks at hand, serve the country's broader interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation's development goals.

Xi underscored the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), noting that accomplishing these objectives by 2025 would lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC individuals would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively participate in comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality growth, and offer valuable proposals for the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

The President also stressed the need to address critical and challenging issues, particularly in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He highlighted the environmental significance of the river and the necessity of coordinated efforts to safeguard its ecosystem.

Moreover, Xi pointed out that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolster confidence in development. He encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features to foster a robust private economy.

The annual gathering reflects the Chinese leadership's commitment to unity and collaboration across different political parties and social sectors. As the nation approaches the Spring Festival, such interactions reinforce the collective spirit and shared goals for China's future development.
