Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended festive greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

Speaking at an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among all sectors of society to achieve the nation's development goals. The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

Xi highlighted China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development, and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

He urged non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks, serve the overall interests of the country, and leverage their unique strengths. By rallying broader support, building consensus, and pooling wisdom and strength, they can contribute significantly to the nation's progress.

Xi underscored the necessity of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to deepening reforms, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection, highlighting the significance of sustainable development.

He called on the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering reflects China's emphasis on unity and inclusiveness, encouraging various sectors to work together towards common goals as the nation enters a new year full of opportunities and challenges.
