Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Chinese president, and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended warm Spring Festival greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.

Addressing the attendees ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year, Xi expressed his heartfelt wishes and appreciation for their contributions to the nation's development. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving China's ambitious goals for 2025.

Xi highlighted that China will implement more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development and enhancing self-reliance in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain robust social and economic growth in the coming years.

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align closely with the central tasks, serve the country's overarching interests, and leverage their unique strengths. \"By rallying broader support, building consensus, and pooling wisdom and strength, we can achieve our shared objectives,\" Xi said.

Emphasizing the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi urged all parties to ensure the achievement of the set targets by 2025, laying a solid foundation for the nation's future development in the subsequent five years.

Xi also encouraged non-CPC personages to mobilize all positive forces to advance development actively. He invited them to contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He underscored the importance of ecological preservation in achieving sustainable development.

Regarding the private sector, Xi noted that the ACFIC should guide private enterprises in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features. \"A vibrant private sector is crucial for the vitality of our economy,\" he remarked.

The gathering reflected the Chinese mainland's commitment to unity and shared progress as the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival. The collaborative spirit emphasized by Xi aims to foster a harmonious society and propel China toward its development goals.
